The company maintains its commitment to biomedical research
Roberlo and the Biomedical Research Institute of Girona (IDIBGI) have renewed, for another year, the collaboration agreement between the two entities that supports scientific research projects in the Girona region. On this occasion, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a symbolic virtual event was held so as to maintain all the necessary safety precautions. Among those participating were: Dr. Carme Gubern, Postdoctoral researcher of the Cerebrovascular Pathology Research Group, Mr. Ferran Pedro, head of the Patrons and Fundraising department of IDIBGI and Mr. Jaume Juher, president of the Briolf Group, of which Roberlo is a member.
Since the start of the pandemic, a little over a year ago, the institute has taken on a number of new projects, some of which are related to Covid-19. As Mr. Jaume Juher stated: “Now more than ever it has been demonstrated that research is essential for the development of treatments for these diseases, and it is Roberlo’s will to play our part in making this possible”.
IDIBGI aims to promote, develop, manage, transfer and disseminate biomedical research, scientific and technological knowledge, teaching and training in the field of life sciences and health. The activity of the researchers is grouped in areas such as Cardiovascular Diseases, Metabolism and Inflammation, Neurosciences, Oncohematology, Medical Imaging and Mental Health.
Six years ago Roberlo joined “Friends of IDIBGI”, an entity which aims to raise private funds to promote and improve research in the Girona area.
